Eligibility: No one under the age of 17 is allowed in the Makerspace without adult supervision. All members under 18 must have a waiver signed by their legal guardian.
Hours of Operation: Active members have 24/7 access 365 days a year. Guest access hours are limited; please inquire for details.
Safety:
Always wear appropriate PPE for the equipment you are using.
Never operate equipment you are not trained or certified to use.
Follow all posted safety guidelines and instructions.
Report any safety hazards or concerns to staff immediately.
Supervision: Members are responsible for their own safety and the safety of others. You are expected to not use equipment you don’t feel competent to use and seek proper training or assistance when needed.
Code of Conduct: We expect all members and guests to treat each other with respect and professionalism. Harassment, discrimination, and disruptive behavior are strictly prohibited.
Equipment Use:
Equipment reservations are encouraged, especially for high-demand machines.
Use equipment only for its intended purpose and follow proper operating procedures.
Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to staff immediately.
Personal projects are allowed, but commercial production is strictly prohibited.
Materials: Consumable materials must be supplied by members. Bringing in hazardous substances is strictly prohibited. Please dispose of waste responsibly in designated areas.
Cleanliness: Everyone is responsible for keeping the Makerspace clean and orderly. Please clean up your workspace and tools after each use.
Liability and Waiver: By using the Makerspace, you acknowledge the inherent risks involved and agree to hold the Tarrant County Makerspace and its owner/operator harmless from any liability for injuries or damages to yourself or others arising from your use of the space or equipment. You are required to sign a waiver acknowledging these terms before using the Makerspace.
Payment Methods and Terms: We accept payments through Stripe and PayPal. Refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Membership Termination: We have the right to terminate membership for any reason, including violation of these terms, non-payment of dues, or safety concerns. Members may withdraw their membership at any time by providing written notice.
Intellectual Property: Ownership of projects created at the Makerspace remains with the individual creator. However, the Makerspace reserves the right to use images or descriptions of projects for promotional purposes.
Guest Policy: Guests may tour the Tarrant County Makerspace upon request, but access to the workshop floor and equipment is limited to members only.
Amendments: This policy may be changed at any time without notice. We encourage you to review this policy regularly for updates.
